EIKA has selected the “greenest” office of tenants in the “EIKA Business Centre” in 2016. UAB “Unseen Pictures” together with UAB “Elektroninės leidybos namai” and UAB “Pharmanet” became the greenest office, having reduced energy consumption by as much as 14 percent over the year, compared to 2015, and electricity costs in the entire business centre decreased by 4.3 percent when calculated per square metre..
Even 28 percent lower electricity consumption is the result of five years of implementing the “Žalio biuros” program. According to Giedrius Brūzgė, Director of the EIKA Property Management Department, over the five years of the program’s existence, more electricity has been saved than the entire “Eika verslo centras” consumed in 10 months of 2016.
For companies located in the Eika Business Center, participation in the program does not create additional investments, and resource optimization does not reduce the comfort of people working in offices. “Currently, more than half of the tenants, whose rented area accounts for 57 percent. of the entire business center area, participate in the Green Office program. Every month, the office that has achieved the best results is selected from the participants of the Green Office project, which is awarded a large basket of fruit. And the office that has saved the most energy during the year compared to the previous year becomes the winner of the year,” says G. Brūzgė about the incentives for participating in the program. The best result in 2016 was achieved by UAB Unseen Pictures, operating in the same premises together with UAB Elektroninės leidybos namai and UAB Pharmanet, which reduced energy costs by 14.02 percent during the year and were awarded the main prize. The company “Versli Lietuva” came in second place, saving 12.5 percent, and the company “Rockwool” came in third, saving 8.4 percent of electricity.
“Green Office” – for fostering sustainable business
In order to encourage employees to change their daily habits and use office resources rationally, one of the most popular social responsibility initiatives was created at the end of 2011 – “Green Office”.
