Code of ethics
ABOUT THE EIKA CODE OF ETHICS
This Code of Ethics is based on the values of the EIKA Group that we live by and want to share with the people around us. Our values – responsibility, integrity, development – raise expectations to be a trusted partner for our customers and a responsible member of the community.
We have created this set of commitments to help us adhere to high ethical standards in our operations.
Our Code of Ethics provides general guidelines on how we want and need to behave in our dealings with our employees, customers, the communities in which we operate and other stakeholders, as well as the behaviour we expect from our business partners, as they are a very important part of our operations.
The EIKA Code of Ethics is a fundamental implementation of our values. We invite you to familiarise yourself with it and to cooperate with us.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
Occupational health and safety means preventing accidents and providing a healthy and safe working environment for our employees and the public who come into contact with our projects. Our priority is an injury-free environment.
The principles we follow to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees:
- We provide a working environment that ensures health, wellbeing and safe working conditions. We ensure that our partners’ employees are properly trained and equipped to do their jobs safely.
- We aim to lead our industry in health and safety by creating an injury-free environment.
FAIR WORKING ENVIRONMENT, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
A fair working environment means ensuring equal pay and working conditions for employees and promoting diversity and inclusion. We value authenticity in our organisation and expect the same from our partners.
To achieve a fair and inclusive working environment, we adhere to the following principles:
- We strive to ensure equal working conditions for employees, including full comfort in the workplace.
- We respect all individuals and strive to work as a team and promote open, respectful communication.
- We strive to create a fatigue-free working environment and to maintain good emotional and physical well-being within teams.
- We choose responsible partners who comply with laws and regulations, respect internationally recognised human rights and ensure decent working conditions.
PERSONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Opportunities for personal growth and development help to develop the talents and potential of our organisation, so we continually encourage our employees to strive for both personal and professional growth.
Principles that guide us in fostering a culture of growth and development within the organisation:
- We provide training and development opportunities for employees and encourage learning through the sharing of best practice.
- Employees have the right to receive and give feedback to their managers.
- We promote transparent internal career development.
RELATIONS WITH STAKEHOLDERS
How we communicate with our stakeholders determines how our organisation is perceived in the marketplace. It is important for us to build relationships based on mutual understanding, trust and long-term commitment.
When communicating with stakeholders, we adhere to the following principles:
- We are guided by the EIKA values in our relationships with stakeholders. We strive to build sustainable and long-term relationships in every transaction.
- We regularly gather feedback from our customers and use it to improve our products and services.
- We thoroughly analyse any negative customer feedback and take corrective actions in cooperation with the customer.
CONFLICTS OF INTEREST AND FAIR COMPETITION
Conflicts of interest arise when the interests of different parties come into conflict. This can arise from hospitality, gifts, charitable or political contributions, sponsorship, close relationships and other forms of involvement with an entity that competes with or has a business relationship with the EIKA Group.
To ensure that our decisions are made without causing a conflict of interest, we adhere to the following principles:
- We apply the four eyes principle when making decisions.
- Potentially interested parties are not involved in the decision-making process. We accept gifts as an organisation (not personally) and only if they do not distort the objectivity of the decision-making.
- When we give gifts, we do so to express our gratitude for cooperation, not to gain favour or business advantage.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
One of our values is to act responsibly in the creation of future spaces for our customers and to ensure quality, which is why we aim to achieve the highest standards of performance and quality and to exceed our customers’ expectations.
To ensure the quality of the services and products we provide, we adhere to the following principles:
- Every employee is responsible for the quality of customer service at every stage.
- We recognise and strive to eliminate deficiencies in our work in accordance with contractual obligations.
- We encourage employees to see their personal contribution to the end result.
SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Our sustainability commitments relate to minimising the negative environmental impact of our operations. To reduce this, we are committed to using resources and assets responsibly, creating sustainable design buildings, and measuring and managing negative environmental impacts.
RELATIONS WITH COMMUNITIES
The communities in which we operate are an important part of what we do. We aim to invest in the wellbeing of communities and build sustainable relationships.
We build our relationships with communities based on the following principles:
- We create educational opportunities that have clear and lasting benefits for community members.
- We create new development opportunities and jobs in the communities where we operate.
- We maintain an open approach to dialogue with those affected by our activities.
RELATIONS WITH PUBLIC AUTHORITIES
Communication with public authorities is an integral part of the EIKA Group’s activities. By responding to the authorities’ requests in a proper and timely manner, we contribute to smooth mutual cooperation.
To ensure open and respectful communication and cooperation, we are guided by the following principles:
- We work honestly in the public interest.
- We work transparently with authorities to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
- We do not solicit, accept, pay or offer to pay bribes, either directly or through outside third parties acting on our behalf.
