The municipal company “Vilniaus vystymo kompanija” and the general contractor UAB “EIKA Construction” (formerly – UAB “Eikos statyba”) signed a contract worth 3 million euros for the installation of a Japanese garden in the Šnipiškės district.
The first phase will include the creation of the garden’s terrain and greenery, the installation of fountains, pedestrian and bicycle paths, a pontoon bridge, gazebos, a children’s playground and parking spaces. This phase is funded by the European Union (more than 2.3 million euros) and Vilnius City Municipality (about 769 thousand euros).
The project concept was created by renowned Japanese landscape architects Shiro Nakane and Yukihiro Nakane, and the technical design was prepared by the companies Terra firma LT and NIT projektai. After the implementation of the first phase, the Šnipiškės Japanese Garden will become an exclusive public space for city residents and guests.
When implementing this project, UAB EIKA Construction will ensure high quality of work and adhere to the principles of sustainable construction, aiming for long-term value and comfort of the space.
