The winner of the competition “For Sustainable Development 2011” is “Eikos namai Pilaitė”

The project “Eiko’s House in Pilaitė” became Winner of the competition “For Sustainable Development 2011” organized by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA). The competition selected the two best projects that meet the principles of sustainable urban development, and they were awarded honorary certificates on Friday.

 

This year, seven projects competed for the title of winner in the competition, which is being held for the fifth year. Eika submitted a new generation of prefabricated reinforced concrete apartment buildings for the competition, which are not only durable but also economical. The past heating season proved the excellent thermal properties of these houses, with heating costs ranging from 1.5 to 3 LTL/m² Also in these houses, exclusive 1-room studio apartments with an area of ​​28 to 31 m2 have been designed, which have attracted great interest from buyers.².

 

According to LNTPA Director Mindaugas Statulevičius, “Eika” was awarded for the affordable housing it offered – in a well-developed area, at an affordable price, an optimal result was achieved with minimalist solutions and costs. “Eika” Development Director Domas Dargis is happy not only with the victory, but also with the successfully implemented and further developed project. “We have been interested in new technologies for a long time in order to offer our clients high-quality, but also affordable housing. Our determination paid off. The project was appreciated not only by our buyers – Pilaitė settlers, but also by experts in this field – members of the commission. I believe that we will also infect other developers with new construction technologies.” – says D. Dargis.

 

The partners of this project were also awarded letters of appreciation: Vytautas Niedvaras, General Director of UAB “Betonika”, for the proposed solutions in applying new constructions in construction, and Vytenis Gerliakas, the project architect, with the “Eventus pro” team, for their creativity, combined with the convenience and comfort of residents.

 

Eika began developing the settlement in Pilaitė in 2006. Nine apartment buildings have already been built in several stages, housing over 500 families. The development of the quarter is currently ongoing and it is planned to build five more apartment buildings and a multi-storey car park by the end of 2014..
