The Lithuanian Bar Association, which unites all Lithuanian lawyers, will move into a new home. Having acquired a building in Vilnius, on Polocko Street, it intends to renovate it, adapt it to the needs of the legal community and society, and also install public spaces accessible to the public. The design, construction management and technical maintenance of the building have been entrusted to the real estate project management company EIKA Development.
The Lithuanian Bar Association, currently renting premises in Vilnius on Lvivo Street, is preparing to move to a building that will better meet the needs of both the legal community and the people they serve. The organization uniting all Lithuanian lawyers has purchased a plot of land with a building in Vilnius (Polocko 43 C), which previously housed offices, shops and apartments. This building will be renovated, both externally and internally, with modern conference rooms, work and meeting spaces.
“By cooperating with the Lithuanian Bar Association, we contribute to the implementation of this socially responsible and extremely important project for the Lithuanian bar community. The essential challenge of this project is not only to manage both the design and construction works in a short time, but also to clarify the essential needs of the Bar Association by consulting the client and accordingly adapt the building to its new function,” says Martynas Žibūda, CEO of EIKA Development.
“The building we purchased needed renovation to accommodate the modern Lithuanian Bar Association headquarters. We know that by cooperating with EIKA Development, we will realize our vision – we want the building to be not only comfortable and functional, but also aesthetically beautiful and bright, so that it reflects the vision and mission of the Bar Association, so that it would be a pleasure to be there, both for those who work here and for those who visit,” says Mindaugas Kukaitis, Chairman of the Lithuanian Bar Association.
The “house” of lawyers will be located on 3 floors: the first floor will contain a public space, a meeting/event hall and a meeting room, which will be available to all Lithuanian lawyers, the second floor will house the administration of the Bar Association; the third floor will house the Bar Council hall, library/bar association museum. The authors of the project are UAB “Studija lapė”, architects Tomas Lapė, Ieva Pakalniškė and Edvinas Kaltanas.
After signing the contract in July last year, EIKA Development began design management work. This year, it is planned to begin construction management work and provision of technical maintenance services. The premises, which occupy almost 500 sq. m., will undergo facade renovation work and complete interior renovation, installing modern engineering systems.
The renovation work is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. It is estimated that investments in this project will amount to approximately 1 million euros.
