Traditionally, during the Christmas period, we transfer funds intended for business gifts on behalf of our partners to organizations that contribute to the well-being of children in Lithuania. Later, we receive news of what these funds helped to accomplish. Today we want to share a truly beautiful and thought-provoking story of the organization “Save the Children”. We are extremely happy that the allocated support helped save the girl’s care during the difficult period of the pandemic.
This spring, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was difficult for many. One woman, who was taking care of a school-age girl, also found herself in a difficult situation. Usually, the girl under her care would go to school, and after that she would rush to her city’s daycare center, where she would spend time until the evening. After finishing work, the caregiver would travel with the girl to her home in the countryside. Unfortunately, after the Government imposed a quarantine and restricted the activities of educational institutions and daycare centers, it became very difficult for the woman to take care of her ward. She could no longer take the girl to school, and the daycare center operated only on a certain schedule due to the restrictions. Due to the difficult financial situation, the woman could not give up her job, so, in difficult circumstances, she even considered terminating the girl’s care. Support helped preserve the girl’s care. Even during the most difficult months, while the caregiver was working, the girl was cared for and provided social services by a woman who spent time with the girl after school, helped her with her homework, and played outside.
Extending a helping hand in difficult times is our duty, so we encourage everyone to not remain indifferent and contribute to the activities of organizations that carry out noble works, or maybe just take care of those around them, for whom the help provided can mean a lot. Let’s donate what is really needed.
