Countries, cities, and streets are decorated not only by people, but also by buildings. Looking around, we notice buildings of different colors, structures, shapes, and facades. But which of them are the most beautiful, unique, or interesting? More than seven hundred architects, designers, and real estate (RE) developers answered this question, evaluating the projects that participated in the FACadE competition for the most beautiful facade..
On October 15-16, a specialized event dedicated to World Architecture Day – “ARCHzona” – took place at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre “LITEXPO”. During it, visitors, real estate developers, architects, designers, interior designers and settlers, voted for the facade of the real estate object/building they liked the most for the first time.
Each exhibitor had three votes – one in each category. The latter were: residential, public and industrial/commercial buildings. After the event and the votes were counted, the five best-rated facades in each category were announced.
Residential buildings:
“Smilgų namas” (arch. Architectural studio “Plazma”), “Missionierių sodai” (arch. “DO architects”), “Vytauto 35” (arch. “Cloud architektai”), “Aeronamai” (arch. Rytis Kaminskas) and “Renesanso” (arch. “Aketuri architektai”) – these projects won laurels in the Residential Buildings category. Looking at the winning projects, their commonality, that is, uniqueness, is clearly visible. Some of them are distinguished by exceptional forms, others by unusual facade solutions.
