The office building built by UAB Eika in 2019 has been awarded the BREEAM Outstanding certificate. This is the highest rating according to the international sustainable building standard BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method).
The business center located on Gedimino Avenue, Vilnius, was assessed in the BREEAM In Use category in 2020 and received an “Excellent” rating. In order to ensure that Live Square meets the sustainability strategy of the Eika Group, the solutions already implemented in the business center were reviewed and the goal was to achieve an even higher rating in the area of sustainability.
“In order for the office building to meet the highest rating, the building’s engineering systems were reviewed, the operation of the equipment was balanced, and the amount of water consumed was further reduced, and lighting measurements were taken. A new water and wastewater system was installed in the business center, and Co2 sensors were installed in the premises, which allow monitoring the indoor air microclimate and Co2 parameters and controlling them as needed,” says Julius Trepkevičius, Head of Commercial Properties at Eika.
Currently, only 6 business centers in Lithuania have been assessed with the international sustainable building certificate “BREEAM Outstanding”.
