Real estate development company EIKA says that the real estate market did not experience significant changes in terms of sales in August. 9 fewer new apartments were sold in Vilnius compared to July, but compared to August last year, sales were 23 percent higher.
Comparing the first eight months of the year with the same period last year, apartment sales in Vilnius grew by 15.6 percent.
Considering only August, this year’s apartment sales in Vilnius were 23 percent higher than last year: in 2024, 235 apartments were sold in Vilnius, compared to 191 in August 2023.
In August of this year, sales, compared to last year, grew in all real estate classes: 108 economy class apartments were sold in August 2024, compared to 87 in August 2023 (24 percent growth), 115 middle class apartments this year and 96 last year (20 percent growth), 12 prestigious class apartments this year and 8 last year (50 percent growth).
According to EIKA data, in August this year, only one new project was added to the Vilnius market, offering 30 new apartments.
“The last month of summer did not bring any major changes to the real estate market. Although, compared to July, 9 fewer apartments were sold, this difference is insignificant – it is much more important that the long-term trend of market recovery remains and, compared to last year, we see almost 16 percent higher buyer activity,” said Tomas Žiaugra, Development Director of EIKA Development.
