Eika introduces an innovative smart home system

Real estate developer Eika, together with technology company Elsis TS, has created one of the most advanced and innovative smart home systems in Lithuania.

Real estate developer “Eika” together with technology company Elsis TS has created one of the most advanced and innovative smart home systems in Lithuania. Users will be able to control all processes in the home, from lighting to security systems, with a single click of a finger, using a smart device or computer, from anywhere in the world..

“The smart home system, EIKA Green Home” is the first real estate developer solution created in Lithuania that includes all home management functions. Previous smart home systems created in Lithuania were usually designed for individual homes or included only limited functions, such as heating control and meter reading. The new “EIKA Green Home” system has supplemented smart home management functions with the control of interior lighting and electrical appliances, the ability to combine alarm and water leakage control and protection in one system, as well as the ability to connect surveillance cameras,” says Rasa Pečiulaitė, Development and Energy Project Manager at Eika.

According to the representative of the company “Eika”, the goal of the smart home system is to ensure a comfortable quality of life, save time, facilitate the management of energy resources and reduce the operating costs of the home. The main advantage of the system, which the authors name, is that everything can be controlled clearly and simply with one app on a smart device at any time, even when away from home. The new system allows you to see what is happening at home and make sure that they are safe.

The smart home system developed by the company warns when an alarm is triggered, and is also an excellent preventive measure against critical situations. When leaving the house, all unused equipment is automatically turned off, thus not only reducing the likelihood of fire or electrical equipment failure, but also saving energy. The new “EIKA green home” system also automatically turns off the water as soon as it detects a water leak, and protects the owners and neighbors from possible flooding. The authors of the project have provided for the possibility of easily installing new functions, providing the ability to control processes remotely.

According to the calculations of the company “Eika”, using a smart home system, the operating costs of housing can be reduced by an average of 10 to 30 percent. This means that a resident of a newly built three-room, 65 sq. m. apartment, paying 0.6 euros per sq. m. per month for electricity and 0.4 euros per sq. m. for heating, can save an average of 67 to 202 euros annually. Without considering comfort and security, the smart home system can pay for itself in as little as 2 years.

The company “Eika” plans to improve the new smart home system, adding new functions. Currently, the new smart home system has already been installed in two housing units built by the company, but, according to a company representative, in the future it is planned to implement the system in a standardized manner in all “Eika” real estate projects.
