Real estate (RE) project development and management company Eika has completed a deal with rapeseed oil, protein feed additives and biodiesel producer MESTILLA, whose controlling stake is held by Linas Agro Group shareholders. The companies have agreed on the design and construction management of an oilseed processing and biodiesel plant. The estimated investment amount is EUR 35 million..
One of the most modern factories in Europe will be located in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ), next to the factory operating since 2007. The new factory will have a building area of approximately 3,500 m2, warehouses of approximately 500 m2, and various storage tanks for raw materials and products of approximately 40,000 m3. Eika will take care of the organization and management of the design and construction processes, as well as provide technical supervision of the construction.
According to Robert Grigalis, Project Management Director at Eika, the company is entering a new area of services. “The 30 years of experience accumulated in providing design and construction organization and management services for residential, administrative, commercial, infrastructure and warehousing real estate objects will now be used in the organization and management of the design and construction processes of industrial objects. We are grateful to MESTILLA for the trust and opportunity for Eika to contribute to the emergence of a modern factory – this obliges us greatly,” says R. Grigalis.
The MESTILLA plant will feature state-of-the-art oil extraction, processing and biodiesel production facilities, ensuring a fully automated production process. The technological processes will leave no waste, and modern, natural resource-saving, energy-efficient, odor-neutralizing technologies will be used, ensuring the lowest possible environmental impact.

The design work for the MESTILLA oilseed processing and biodiesel plant is currently underway. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.
