“Eika” Group has completed the sale-purchase transaction with UAB “Autoaibė” of the shopping center “Smiltė” building in Klaipėda. UAB “Autoaibė” acquired approximately 5,000 sq. m. of retail premises, built in 2008. The transaction amount is not disclosed.
The retail premises were adapted for the sale of furniture and home accessories, located next to the busy Baltijos avenue with a spacious parking lot. According to Domas Dargis, CEO of Eika, as market conditions and consumer habits changed, we have been looking for solutions for several years to rationally utilize this shopping center. “We were looking for a new business concept, better utilization and efficiency, but after receiving an offer that met our expectations, we decided to sell it and use the funds received for the development of existing and future projects,” says D. Dargis.
During the transaction, it was agreed that the existing tenants will continue their activities. Currently, Eika provides building management and administration services in Klaipėda to the entertainment and shopping center Mega Plaza and the Baltic Business Center.
