UAB “EIKA Development”, a real estate project development and management company belonging to the “EIKA” group of companies In Klaipėda has begun construction work on the oilseed processing and biodiesel production plant UAB “MESTILLA”. The works are planned to be completed In the fall of 2025.
Last year, UAB EIKA Development completed a deal with UAB MESTILLA, whose controlling stake is owned by the shareholders of AB Akola group, for the design and construction management of an oilseed processing and biodiesel plant. Immediately after the agreement, design work was initiated, and in the first quarter of 2024, after receiving a construction permit, construction of one of the most modern factories in Europe began, which is rapidly emerging in the Klaipėda free economic zone.
“The factory under construction, which will cost about 60 million euros with equipment, will become one of the largest agricultural and renewable energy investments in Lithuania. It will have the most advanced oil extraction, processing and biodiesel production technologies. Production processes will be fully automated, efficient and resource-saving. Together with the EIKA group of companies, we will create more value for the economy, environment and agricultural sector of Klaipėda and the entire country,” says Arūnas Zubas, General Director of UAB MESTILLA.

The construction of the MESTILLA oilseed processing and biodiesel plant is currently underway. EIKA Development is responsible for the organization and management of the design and construction processes, and will provide technical supervision of the construction.
