The construction and design of the Rūdninkai military town is an extraordinary project that requires the highest competence and extremely responsible preparation. For the first stage of construction alone, 29 structures are being designed at the same time. In order to ensure that all work is completed with high quality and on time, EIKA Construction, together with its partners, has assembled a team of more than 130 architects, constructors, project managers, construction management engineers and other specialists necessary for the implementation of the project.
This entire team of professionals focused on a common project began intensive work in August 2024, immediately after signing the design and construction contract with the Infrastructure Management Agency. Currently, construction work on the installation of outdoor engineering networks is already underway, and construction work on buildings is planned to begin at the end of April.
During the first phase of construction, infrastructure for accommodation and military camp administration will be created on the nearly 40-hectare training area. It is also planned to install military equipment and transport yards, repair shops, warehouses, a guardhouse and other infrastructure necessary to ensure the highest level of combat training for allied and Lithuanian soldiers.
The contract stipulates that the entire project must be implemented within 36 months, by August 2027. However, due to the favorable and warm winter, the site preparation works were completed earlier and the design is moving faster than planned, EIKA Construction has set itself the ambition to complete the project half a year earlier. Then, as soon as the work is completed, the created infrastructure will be transferred to the German brigade for use.
“When faced with construction, we understand that for a project of this scale, this is a very short and ambitious deadline, but we feel calm because we have experience with non-standard tasks and projects of this size. The most important thing is to plan, design and prepare everything properly, which is where we started and we see that everything is going smoothly, as we had planned,” says Almantas Čebanauskas, head of EIKA Construction.
He does not hide that the construction of Phase I of the Rūdninkai Military Range is not only a huge challenge for the company, but also a great responsibility, an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s competencies and commitment to the state of Lithuania: “We will use the latest technologies and solutions to ensure high construction quality and efficiency. We will also closely cooperate with all interested parties to inform the public about the progress of the project.”
The EIKA Group of companies already has experience in implementing projects of this type – this is the second military town they are building. In 2024, a military town was opened in Šiauliai, the project of which was implemented by the EIKA Group companies “Partnerystės projektai keturi” and “Samogitia miestelis”.
“We have experience in implementing complex projects that require high quality and safety requirements. Our team is ready to overcome all challenges and ensure that the training ground is built to the highest standards and on time,” assured A. Čebanauskas.
