“Eika” begins developing the multi-apartment residential building “Mažvydo 2” in Vilnius, Pilaitė

EIKA is starting to develop a residential apartment building “Mažvydo 2” in Vilnius, Pilaitė, Mažvydo Street. It is planned to build 95 apartments, the amount of planned investments reaches 5.3 million euros. Construction is expected to begin in March 2020, and end in October 2021. The apartments will be offered to the market in April of this year. The apartment building is planned next to the company’s already developed and popular quarter “EIKA namai Pilaitė” on Mažvydo Street.

The total planned area of the building is a little more than 4800 sq. m, it will consist of two buildings, one seven-storey, the other eight-storey. 1.5–4-room apartments have been designed, the area of which varies from 30 to 80 sq. m. The first-floor apartments are planned with terraces of 9–34 sq. m, all apartments have balconies. The building territory includes children’s playgrounds and sports grounds, a quiet resting place for the elderly and disabled, and the territory will be fenced. The building is designed for A+ energy efficiency class.

It is estimated that in the nearby apartment building block “EIKA namai Pilaitė”, which was completed in 2016, a total of about 1,000 families have settled. The block is planned to create a harmonious environment with green courtyards, where residents would be happy to spend time on sports and playgrounds, and in quiet recreation areas. The houses were built to create as much comfort as possible for the settlers – efficient heating, the best possible sound insulation, and plenty of sunlight. Currently, EIKA is also developing a block on Karaliaučiaus Street in Pilaitė, where it has created the largest private square in the entire district.

“When analyzing the portrait of residents already settled in Pilaitė in our projects, we see that they are mostly young singles and couples, around 30–35 years old. These people tend to choose housing closer to nature, further from the city center. The opportunity to actively spend their free time in the fresh air is important to them, as well as a convenient public transport infrastructure. Looking to the future, it is important to have kindergartens and schools nearby, so Pilaitė is a natural solution,” says EIKA Development Director Martynas Žibūda about the settlers.

The new apartment building was given the name “Mažvydas 2” continuing the beautiful Pilaitė tradition of naming streets with names related to Lithuania Minor and thus trying to draw attention to how much Lithuania Minor gave to Great Lithuania. One of such gifts is the first book in Lithuanian, written by M. Mažvydas. It was this symbol that was chosen when developing the brand.
