When Domas Dargis returned from his studies in England and became the development director of the real estate development company Eika, on his first day at work, the Lehman Brothers bank went bankrupt in the US and a wave of crisis began to spread around the world. The son of Robert Dargis, the head of the Confederation of Industrialists, had to worry not about development, but about survival. However, it was an invaluable experience, says D. Dargis, who heads Eika.
“I think my parents had already sensed my understanding of this business. In addition, when I came to work, they immediately gave me trust and authority, I was not constrained,” D. Dargis told 15min. D. Dargis has worked as the company’s development director since 2008, and in August 2014 he took over the management of the business from his father, Roberts Dargis, who is now the chairman of the board of Eika and the president of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. D. Dargis told 15min about his first steps in the real estate market.
