On Thursday, the third and final free summer movie night took place at the amphitheater of the Vilnius Business Center “FLOW” managed by “EIKA Development”, where hundreds of Vilnius residents enjoyed two internationally acclaimed films from the “Kino Pavasaris” festival program.
The free movie evening series at the FLOW business center amphitheater kicked off in June with the Oscar-winning film of the same name – Flow (lit.. Flood), and in July the critically acclaimed film Peacock (English:. Peacock) and “The Stars Prophesy” (English. Wishing on a Star).
Two more films that have received international attention have been selected for the last film evening: the Frenchman Emmanuel Courcol’s work “Fanfares” (English. The Marching Band) and the British Andrea Arnold’s work “Bird” (English. Bird). Nearly 1,000 people watched 5 films over three movie nights.
“We are delighted with the excellently successful events and the huge interest from Vilnius residents and city guests. Thank you to everyone who chose to spend three summer evenings together with a movie – even in June, when the weather was definitely not the best. This shows that people need such events, that they are useful and important,” says Domas Dargis, CEO of EIKA Group.
Ieva Pačkauskaitė, Head of Partnerships and B2B Sales at Kino Pavasaris, who helped select the film program for free movie nights, is pleased that more and more comfortable outdoor spaces are emerging in Lithuania where quality cinema experiences can be created.
“We are happy to give Vilnius residents every opportunity to get acquainted with auteur cinema, and here they were able to see some of the most striking films of the last “Kino pavasaris” festival. 1,000 viewers means approximately 10 cinema halls, and the architecture of the “FLOW” amphitheater itself resembles a cinema space in the open air, so it was not only fun for the audience to watch films here, but also comfortable,” says I. Pačkauskaitė.
The amphitheater of the FLOW business center covers an area of 500 sq. meters and comfortably accommodates about two hundred people. In order to create a space where people can take a breather on a hot summer day, as much as 300 sq. meters of space is allocated for greenery: trees and as much as 1.6 thousand plants have been planted on the stair terraces.
The FLOW business center, located at Lvivo St. 21A, which opened its doors a year and a half ago, is becoming more and more actively involved in the life of the city’s community. Last summer, Vilnius residents were given the opportunity to visit the impressive roof terrace for free, this summer the amphitheater next to the building became a cinema space, and perhaps even more interesting initiatives await in the future.
“FLOW Business Center is more than the walls, roof and windows of the building. It is a place full of life, where we create a balance between work and life, and initiatives to activate the building’s spaces are just the beginning. We want to contribute to the prosperity of the city in every way and are thinking of new ideas for what else we could do in the future, so stay tuned,” adds D. Dargis.
