The EIKA Construction team grew by 51% during the year.

The team of the construction company EIKA Construction grew by as much as 51 percent in 2025, or an average of one employee per week. The company’s manager reveals that the growth spurt was driven by both strategic state projects and the number of private construction projects, and work on projects such as the Rūdninkų military town directly led to the team’s growth of up to 20 percent.

The recipe for success is a strong culture

The construction company, founded in 2003, has experienced significant changes and growth over the past few years. The company, which is part of the EIKA Group, changed its name (previously called EIKOS statyba), received prestigious awards for its projects, and last year the company’s team grew by as much as 51 percent – from 114 to 172 employees.

“A growing team is wonderful, but we are most pleased to have created a system that would allow us to effectively manage that growth. While maintaining a very low employee turnover, in 2025 we strengthened the entire chain of activities – both with new specialists and by improving the competencies of the existing team. This allowed us to ensure uninterrupted work flow, high quality, and timely implementation of projects,” emphasizes the company’s CEO Almantas Čebanauskas.

Last year, employee turnover at EIKA Construction was lower than the national average, with voluntary turnover at less than 2 percent. Every third team member has been working here for more than five years, and as many as 10 percent of employees have been with the company for 10 years or longer. According to A. Čebanauskas, the secret to the company’s stable success is a strong organizational culture.

“I believe that employee loyalty is determined by the team culture and the managers’ attitude towards people. When employees feel trusted, have clear responsibility and real influence on decisions – engagement and the desire to stay are born automatically. I can testify to this, because I have been working here for 10 years. Working in a steadily growing company with a good team and seeing that our work leaves a tangible mark is a very motivating factor,” shares A. Čebanauskas.

Invests in the younger generation

The company, which develops large-scale projects, is characterized by the ability to build both buildings and a team, and along with the business, it also grows the new generation. A. Čebanauskas reveals that for some time now, a young specialist education program has been consistently implemented, thanks to which students can gain experience on the basis of volunteering or a tripartite agreement with higher education institutions.

“We currently have nine students working for us, and several more are doing internships – all of them successfully combine their studies with work. This creates mutual value, because young people gain experience early on, and we develop future professionals. We already have more than one example of how people who have completed internships with us are working in our project management team today,” adds the company’s manager.

Associate Professor Loreta Kanapeckienė, Vice-Dean for Studies, Communication, Alumni and Partnerships at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech), which collaborates with EIKA Construction, reiterates that the opportunity to see behind the scenes of construction companies provides students with real-world experience, develops skills and helps prepare for their future careers.

“The number of applicants to the Faculty of Civil Engineering has been growing for the third year in a row, and this year we will have 15 percent more students in the civil engineering study program. We work closely with construction companies and often visit their projects, as this allows students to see up close how their acquired theoretical knowledge is adapted in practice. Such experiences and practical cases are very motivating,” says Assoc. Prof. Dr. L. Kanapeckienė.

The works speak for themselves.

In recent years, EIKA Construction has achieved breakthroughs in strategic state projects such as the Vilnius Airport Departure Terminal, VU Medical Center, Panevėžys Infectious Disease Hospital, and Rūdninkų Military Camp (RKM). According to the company’s CEO, the RKM project, worth 125 million euros, had the greatest impact on the company’s growth.

“This is an extraordinary project that requires the highest competence and extremely responsible preparation. Together with our partners, we have assembled a group of over 130 architects, designers, project managers, civil engineers and other specialists specifically for this project, and the number of our employees has increased by 20 percent due to RKM alone. The opportunity to work on projects of this scale is the greatest appreciation of our work,” emphasizes A. Čebanauskas.

A group of Vilnius Tech students have already managed to see the construction site of the nationally important RKM up close. 25 civil engineering students who visited here in the fall learned about the significance of the facility for Lithuania, the construction progress and work procedures, while EIKA Construction specialists who once worked at the students’ site shared their stories and career advice.

EIKA Construction is recognized not only for its trust in the state, large projects or attention from students. The Vilnius Airport Departure Terminal and the VU Medical Center, built by the company, were recognized as the best public real estate objects in Lithuania this winter at the LNTPA and Sustainable Development Academy awards “For Sustainable Development”.
