For EIKA Group’s construction company EIKA Construction, 2025 was a year of stable growth and learning. The company increased its turnover to 71.2 million euros, and the number of employees exceeded 170. This year, the company plans further consistent development – increasing the number of employees and signing and implementing contracts for more than 100 million euros.
“Last year’s record-breaking achievements of the company are not the result of luck, but of patient work. Such growth in employees and turnover would not have been possible if we had not systematically prepared for it. Over the past 10 years, we have invested a lot in the digitalization of various processes, not to hang ISO on the wall, but to actually use it in implementing projects,” says Almantas Čebanauskas, the manager of the company “EIKA Construction”, which has accumulated almost 24 years of experience.
According to him, 2025 was the year of continuity and implementation of work planned and started much earlier.
“This is partly a turning point. At the beginning of 2025, we planned significant growth and implemented this goal in full. Having managed project budgets and the projects themselves well, we increased our turnover last year by over 70% – to 71.2 million euros, when in 2024 it amounted to 41.6 million euros. We are still calculating the final results, but no less important is that we managed to operate profitably, exceeding the average of the Lithuanian general contracting sector,” says A. Čebanauskas.
Unique projects implemented and under development
Among the most memorable and particularly significant projects implemented by EIKA Construction, the head of the company names the Vilnius Airport Departure Terminal, which began serving passengers last year, and the Medical Science Center of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University. Both of these public-purpose projects implemented by the company were recognized in the “For Sustainable Development” nominations in their category at the awards organized by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association and the Academy of Sustainable Development last year.
The 14.4 thousand sq. m. terminal, which cost about 50 million euros, should double the airport’s passenger service and throughput capacity from 1.2 thousand to 2.4 thousand passengers per hour. The VU Medical Science Center, which cost almost 50 million euros to build, consists of 6 buildings with almost 900 rooms, and its total area is over 19 thousand sq. m. It houses numerous research centers and laboratories, as well as the country’s first biobank and the first biological safety level 3 laboratory.
Among the projects that have already been implemented this year, the construction of an administrative building on Mozūriškių St. in the capital, as well as a junior high school on Pavilnionių St., is highlighted. This modern educational institution, implemented for 28.2 million euros, will have 22 classrooms, a swimming pool, two gyms, an inner courtyard, and an atrium, which will become the common center of the school – a place for meetings, breaks, and outdoor activities. The atrium, located throughout all four floors of the building, will provide the space with light and openness. The school will also have specialized sewing and natural science classes, metal and wood workshops, a training kitchen, a theater and cinema hall, and innovative digital production workshops. The junior high school plans to invite its first students on September 1 next year.
“And we plan to crown our projects this year 10 months earlier – at the end of the year, not in August 2027 – by completing the implementation of Phase I of the Rūdninkai military town, in order to create all critical infrastructure for the first 600 soldiers,” says A. Čebanauskas.
To overcome challenges – and digitalization…
“According to January data of this year, construction companies registered about 2 thousand vacancies, which is 12.1% more than the previous month. This confirms that the season is being prepared with a “deepening shortage of workers”, – the head of “EIKA Construction” shares the worrying data of the Lithuanian Builders’ Association. – However, we hope that this year we will not experience a significant shortage of subcontractors and will manage to maintain a balance between price and quality. We have a number of partners with whom we successfully cooperate and go from “object to object”. But seeing that everyone is short of workers, it is likely that the availability of subcontracting will worsen, and the prices of work will rise. Especially when it comes to subcontractors of heating, ventilation and air conditioning and water supply and sewage systems.”
A. Čebanauskas points out that although the market situation is tense, last year it was decided to refuse to participate in several tenders due to unreasonably short deadlines. And the fact that there are companies that are seriously risking their reputation shows the general “hunger” of the market.
“We increase work productivity and the quality of work performed by investing in digitalization solutions and improving the qualifications of all employees – both those working at the facilities and in the office. For example, BIM (Building Information Modeling) helped to properly manage – purchase, deliver and install – 384,349 elements during the implementation of the VU Medical Sciences Center project. The Dalux program allows you to conveniently manage drawings, BIM models and construction information in one place, facilitates communication between project participants, helps to record defects faster and monitor the progress of work in real time, thus reducing possible errors and costs, and saves time,” A. Čebanauskas shares several modern solutions used.
EIKA Construction also uses electronic construction management platforms such as MS Project, Bauwice, etc., which allow real-time tracking of work progress, resolution of emerging problems, and communication between teams.
…and investments in competencies
Speaking about employees, he emphasizes that their number has increased by 50% over the year, to 172, and turnover has remained extremely low.
“We are pleased that the number of employees not only grew, but the growth process was controlled, and employee turnover remained low. The goal was to create a system that would allow the company to grow quickly but in a controlled manner, and the results of 2025 prove it – we succeeded,” the head of EIKA Construction does not hide his satisfaction with the harmonious team. “Strengthening competencies last year was focused on the entire activity chain – from management to implementation. As the scope of projects grew, project coordination and administration functions were strengthened, and at the same time the teams of workers working at the facilities were increased. This allowed us to ensure uninterrupted work progress and implement projects on time.”
Last year, EIKA Construction invested in developing the competencies of all employees, from administration to specialists and workers working on construction sites. The training covered digital competencies, including the application of artificial intelligence for work productivity, project and time management, English language training, as well as professional and employee safety training, contributing to the high-quality and safe implementation of projects.
“This year, our priority areas of activity are defense facilities and public buildings. The market will show whether general contractors will be needed in the currently active residential construction segment. Our goal is natural growth and signing contracts for more than 80 million euros. Therefore, we plan to grow the team by another 35–40%,” states the head of EIKA Construction.
