As many as 8 projects of the EIKA Group are among the most important nominees of this year’s sustainable development competition

This year, eight projects from the EIKA Group were among the best in the real estate competition “For Sustainable Development 2025”, organized by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) together with the Sustainable Development Academy. The competition nominated two public buildings built by EIKA Construction, one object still under construction by the company, and five apartment projects developed by EIKA Development in Vilnius.

Two general contracting projects implemented by EIKA Construction are competing in the public projects category: Vilnius Airport Departure Terminal and Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine Medical Science Center.

Both buildings stand out for their architectural quality and urban solutions, as well as their modern interiors, use of smart technologies and high energy efficiency.

The 14.4 thousand sq. m. departure terminal of Vilnius Airport opened its doors at the beginning of the year. Investments in this project amounted to 50 million euros. The architects of the terminal are Vilnius Architecture Studio and Artūras Asauskas.

The VU Medical Science Center, which consists of 6 buildings for different purposes with almost 900 rooms and a total area of 19 thousand sq. m, was completed and began operating in August 2024. Investments in the project (excluding furniture and equipment installed by the customer) amounted to almost 50 million euros. The architects of the science center are Cloud architects and Jovilė Porvaneckaitė-Dagelienė.

Another EIKA Construction project – the Rūdninkai Military Campus – has been nominated in the competition’s future projects category.

The German brigade camp is the largest military infrastructure project in the history of independent Lithuania. During the first phase of construction, 19 buildings will be erected on the almost 200-hectare training area, and infrastructure is being created for accommodation, military transport maintenance, and military camp administration.

Five apartment building projects in Vilnius developed by EIKA Development were among the nominees for the sustainable development competition.

In the residential projects category, the projects “Saulės namai” and “Metų laikai” (stage 1) are the best contenders.

“Seasons” is being developed in Visoriai – one of the greenest districts of Vilnius, surrounded by a forest park on all sides. In the first stage of this project, which has already been implemented, special attention was paid to sustainability, building functionality and creating community well-being. This is the first apartment block of “EIKA Development” and only the third apartment project in Lithuania certified according to the international BREEAM sustainability system.

The project “Seasons” is being developed in four stages and the settlement will consist of a total of 13 five- to nine-story A++ energy class houses, 6 of which are already built or nearing completion. The quarter was designed by “SP Architektų grupė” with lead architect Saulius Pamerneckis.

EIKA Development’s project “Saulės namai” was also nominated for the competition. The residential apartment building project is located in one of the most popular and favorite neighborhoods among new residents – Pilaitė.

The project “Saulės namai” focuses on architectural solutions and adapting the complex urban environment to the daily comfort of residents. The apartment buildings have many roof terraces with exceptional views of the surroundings, and an active recreation area with play areas for children, sports or community gatherings has been formed in the semi-enclosed and abundantly landscaped inner courtyard. The architects of the project are Indrė Ankudavičienė and Giedrius Fokas.

Three more EIKA Development apartment projects are competing in the future projects category: “Medeinos namai” (Pašilaičiai), “Senamiesčio sodai” and “Žvėryno Personos”.

The real estate competition “For Sustainable Development”, organized since 2008, annually selects the best residential, commercial, industrial, public and future real estate projects in Lithuania. The fact that as many as eight projects of the “EIKA Group” group of companies were among this year’s nominees confirms the group’s consistent direction in creating modern, sustainable and long-term value projects for the city, communities and the environment.
