The Pon.Bike factory, one of the world’s bicycle industry leaders, has opened in the Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone (LEZ), which has been managed by the EIKA Group and Progressive Business Solutions for a decade..
The new state-of-the-art Pon.Bike factory will produce bicycles of such well-known brands as Gazelle, Kalkhoff, Focus and Urban Arrow. The EIKA Group hopes that this state-of-the-art factory will serve as an inspiring example, setting new standards for the entire industry.
“Exactly a decade ago, when the companies “EIKA” and “Progresyvūs verslo sprendimai” combined their knowledge and efforts, the management of the Kėdainiai free economic zone territory began. I remember that at that time there were few people around who believed in our success and opportunities to attract larger investors. In the first years of management, we were constantly compared to the old FEZ territories that had been operating for decades, and there were often those who doubted whether it was really worth establishing FEZs in the regions. However, now we can confidently say that the opening of the “Pon.Bike” factory is also a celebration of our first anniversary decade with an excellent result of the decade, namely the opening of a factory for a global bicycle manufacturer,” says Artūras Klangauskas, Director of the Infrastructure Development Department of “EIKA”.
According to him, during this period, investments exceeding 115 million euros are expected. “These investments have laid a solid foundation for the coming years, during which companies will create an additional 500 new jobs and attract over 50 million euros in investments to companies already located in the Kėdainiai FEZ territory,” he says.
