On May 22, a large group of future engineers arrived at VILNIUS TECH. The 7th season Spring Session and the season closing event took place here, where 251 projects were presented. In total, about 700 students and over 130 teachers from 65 Lithuanian schools participated. The most innovative, creative, and interesting project works selected by the VILNIUS TECH teaching committee were awarded VILNIUS TECH prizes. This year, the EIKA group also selected its favorites.
EIKA sponsored two themes: “City of the Future: Sustainable Living Environment” and “City of the Future: Sustainable Building”. A total of four winners were selected – two from each theme:
Students from Pakruojis “Žemynas” junior high school presented a project aimed at creating ecologically sustainable school recreation areas of the future, where students would have the opportunity to rest during breaks.
A student at Šiauliai Simonas Daukantas Engineering Gymnasium took on the task of calculating heat losses in the gymnasium, thus seeking to identify areas where heat is lost and solve related problems.
A representative of Šiauliai Simonas Daukantas Engineering Gymnasium noticed that when renovating apartment buildings, there are no more passageways for the woodpeckers. To solve this problem, nesting boxes were made from secondary waste pressed cardboard, and monitoring will be carried out during the bird migration period.
A student at Klaipėda Baltic Gymnasium proposed constructing a green bus stop that would contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in the city and reduce outdoor temperatures during the warm season.
Thank you to the engineers of the future who willingly contribute to the development of the country with their ideas!
