Located near the Vilnius railway station, Naujininkai is becoming an increasingly popular choice for residents looking for housing or investors who believe in the development of this area. Changes in the capital’s district are obvious. Previously industrial, abandoned, industrial areas, as developers see the potential of the area, are being transformed into new, modern residential or recreational areas that attract settlers..
“It seems that the unpleasant haze that has enveloped Naujininkai for many years is starting to recede. The rapidly changing spaces invite you to rediscover this area and entice both individual residents and young families to settle here,” says Tomas Žiaugra, development director at EIKA Development.
Thanks to the ambitious Vilnius Connect plan, a recreation and entertainment town and green spaces will be created on Geležinkelios and Pelesos streets. Pedestrian connections between Naujininkai and Naujamiestis are also planned: the first – between Šv. Stepona and Pelesos streets, the second – between Algirdas streets and Dzūkų streets.
The renovated Šviesos Square, located between Liepkalnis and Pelesos streets, will invite you to spend your free time in nature – pedestrian paths and a playground will be renovated here, and it is planned to install a sports field, lighting, and cameras that will ensure the safety of the space.
Naujininkai is also distinguished by its convenient infrastructure: right here are the Old Town and the New Town, which are easily accessible on foot, by car and by public transport, as well as the southern bypass, which allows you to avoid traffic jams. Convenient and for frequent travelers, Vilnius International Airport is right here. Kaunas will be reachable in 30 minutes by the new Rail Baltica railway, Riga in 2 hours, and Tallinn in 4 hours. Ski lovers, of course, appreciate the fact that the popular ski resort complex “Liepkalnis” is located here.
One of the most unique places in the district is Kaminkelio Street in the southern part of Naujininkai, which is dominated by individual houses, hills and large green areas for recreation. Here, EIKA Development, a subsidiary of the Eika Group, is developing the residential project “New Landscapes” and is consistently converting abandoned territories into residential ones.
“We all see how Vilnius is changing, and we are happy to be able to be not only observers, but also to be a part of those changes ourselves. Some time ago, we witnessed how the New Town seemed to be reborn, became a center of attraction and a desirable place to live, and now we notice that more and more people are turning their eyes to Naujininkai, which seems to be its extension. For too long, this district with great potential was somehow forgotten and neglected – all it needed was care and investment, and now it is undergoing an incredible transformation before our eyes,” notes T. Žiaugra.
According to him, the district’s prospects are also indicated by the interest of investors.
“The first buyers of apartments in our project “New Landscapes” are investors buying investment housing. Convenient infrastructure, close to the center, the new town is already becoming fully populated, so it is natural that the district is expanding,” says T. Žiaugra, development director of “EIKA Development”.[vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”48634,48636,48638,48632″ img_size=”medium”]
