As the new year begins, Flow is living on positive news: a new lease agreement has been signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the business center, and the state commission has recognized the building as suitable for use, thus declaring that its construction is complete.
A long-term lease agreement has been signed with the future tenant, under which the EBRD will be located in a 420 sq. m. office, on the highest floor of Flow, 20. According to Giedrius Brūzgė, Director of the Property Department of Eika Development, the transaction is a significant assessment, since companies of this level like the EBRD evaluate the decisions they make very carefully.
“The EBRD, as an institutional investor, follows a policy of financing buildings that meet international sustainability standards and whose sustainability rating is no lower than “Very Good” or “Excellent”. It is not surprising that when choosing a new office for themselves, they set no lower requirements. The serious attitude of the international community and trust in the “Eika Development” team and its competencies in implementing the construction of one of the most sustainable business centers in Lithuania, which is being developed under the “Breeam New Construction Outstanding” certificate, allows us to communicate much more boldly about the value of this project and think about even more ambitious future projects,” says G. Brūzgė.
Flow was declared ready for use at the end of November, in compliance with all deadlines and obligations, and some tenants have already successfully settled in the business center.
“We are delighted to soon call the Flow Business Centre our new home. The new expanded EBRD office at the centre reflects the EBRD’s growth in Lithuania and the region. It will allow us to work more efficiently as our team and business expand,” says Tomas Kairys, EBRD Country Manager for Lithuania and the Baltics.
We are a bank focused primarily on green banking, aligning all our operations with the goals of the Paris Agreement, so we are particularly proud that our new office will be located in a building with outstanding sustainability indicators, similar to our headquarters in London.
“The EBRD continues to be active in Lithuania and the Baltic States and will support projects in this region with borrowed funds and equity capital,” shares Tomas Kairys.
The construction of the Flow business center began in 2021. Flow, consisting of two 15- and 20-story buildings, has a total area of 15,000 sq. m. of premises. The real estate development company Eika Development is investing more than 42.5 million euros in the business space. The official opening of the business center is planned for the end of January 2024.
