The remote solar power plant park belonging to the Eika Group of Companies in the Klaipėda district is already generating electricity. From spring 2023, the 5 megawatt power plant will provide about 85 percent of the Eika Group’s current energy needs..
According to Giedrius Brūzgė, Director of the Asset Management Department at Eika, great attention was paid to the quality of the equipment and the durability of the solution provided. “In cooperation with Eternia Solar, we built a solar power plant with double-sided modules, thanks to which maximum efficiency will be achieved. In this way, Eika has taken another sustainable step – from now on, we will supply the commercial objects we manage with electricity ourselves. We believe that this investment will encourage even bolder use of sustainable energy in the country,” says G. Brūzgė.
Due to climate risks and geopolitical situations, investing in green energy is increasing public and private sector interest. It is also an opportunity to reduce dependence on imported energy from foreign countries and save money.
It is estimated that the solar power plant park in the Klaipėda district will reduce more than 66 thousand tons of greenhouse gas emissions of CO2 during its entire operational period and will produce about 5,100,000 kWh of electricity per year.
Investments in a remote solar power park in the Klaipėda district amounted to 4 million euros.
