Eika Real Estate Fund acquired the production base of engineering wholesaler ViaCon Baltic in Kaunas

The real estate fund UAB Eika Real Estate Fund (EREF), managed by the fund management company UAB Eika Asset Management (EAM), has completed a transaction to acquire the production base of the engineering wholesale company UAB ViaCon Baltic, located in the Kaunas district. UAB ViaCon Baltic leases almost 5 hectares of territory, production buildings and administrative premises. The transaction amount is not disclosed.

EREF has acquired UAB Pilainiai, which owns a 4.8 ha territory in Margava, Kaunas district, as well as more than 4,800 sq. m of build-to-suit production and administrative premises, including the construction of plastic pipe production facilities, which are specialized in the production of road, railway, tunnel and bridge construction materials. The production facilities, which will help implement UAB ViaCon Baltic’s development plans, are planned to be completed in Q3 2022.

According to EAM CEO Viktorija Orkinė, EREF’s new investment is considered safe because the acquired buildings have been developed according to the needs of ViaCon Baltic, have a long-term lease agreement, and are in an attractive location for production and logistics purposes.

“ViaCon Group continues the project of modernization of the production base, introducing the latest production technologies and thus further strengthening its positions in the European market. The construction of new production buildings will allow to optimize production processes and create a modern working environment for the company’s employees. “ViaCon Group’s long-term strategy is aimed at supplying innovative and sustainable products and solutions to the infrastructure construction market,” says Virginijus Jurevičius, CEO of “ViaCon Baltic”.

The ViaCon Baltic manufacturing center is EREF’s sixth investment. In addition to it, EREF’s investment portfolio includes the Highway business center and Audi and Volkswagen car dealerships in Vilnius, the DHL Lietuva terminal in the Vilnius Airport area, and the Tamro logistics center of the BENU pharmacy operator in the Kaunas Free Economic Zone. EREF is the second real estate fund managed by EAM to invest in commercial properties. EREF invests in classic commercial properties – office buildings, shopping centers, and logistics or light industry facilities in the CEE region. The fund is intended for informed investors, and the capital of the EIKA group is also invested alongside external investors.
