In July, the first hotel of the global Hilton chain in Lithuania will open its doors in Vilnius, next to Lukiškės Square. The chain, which operates in 109 countries, will open a 4-star business class hotel in Vilnius, Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre. It will be one of the chain’s first hotels equipped according to a renewed concept, and guests will find many elements of local culture.
“Hilton’s arrival in Lithuania is an important event for the country’s tourism. First of all, it marks the attractiveness of Lithuania and Vilnius as a business and leisure travel destination. Second, such international brands create additional value by attracting a stream of their loyal customers to new places. Third, Hilton is distinguished by its service culture all over the world, so it will raise this bar in the entire hospitality sector,” says Augustinas Barauskas, manager of Hilton Garden Inn in Lithuania and head of international hotel operator Apex Alliance Hotel Management.
Tailored to business needs
Lithuania ranks 14th out of 190 countries in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2019 business survey. This is one of the main ratings that businessmen take into account when choosing a country to invest in. More and more international companies are opening their service centers in Vilnius. Business trips are becoming more frequent, so the need for international business-class hotels that focus on extremely high service quality standards is growing.
“A business representative needs a quality trip: he expects fast and smooth service. Taking into account the needs of such clients, the 164-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel, located in the LiveSquare business complex, will have conference rooms and high-speed Wi-Fi internet access. Those who wish to work will be able to do so both in the aforementioned complex’s co-working center “Spaces” and in their rooms, as they will be adapted for work. We will be located in a strategically convenient location for our clients, close to government organizations, embassies, business centers, and the Seimas. The convenient location will allow hotel guests to save today’s extremely valuable time,” notes A. Barauskas.
A tribute to Lithuanian cultural heritage
Last summer, Hilton underwent a major interior design overhaul: it became brighter, more spacious, and more tailored to the changing needs of travelers, with special spaces created for socializing. The hotel opening in Vilnius will be one of the first to feature the updated concept. Although the Hilton brand is international, it encourages hotels in the countries where it opens to reflect local culture. When designing the Lithuanian Hilton Garden Inn, Yurta interior designers were given considerable creative freedom, paying tribute to the authentic Lithuanian cultural heritage.
“All this will be subtly reflected in the details and will become one of the hotel’s unique features. Brass details reminiscent of Balt patterns will be embedded in the floor tiles, and meeting rooms will be named after Balt tribes. Hanging brass elements installed in the ceiling are like a hint at thatched “gardens”. Even the rough granite fireplace surround should look like a thrown stone or an altar. The hotel’s interior will also feature earthy, calm colors characteristic of Balt culture, and the trees planted in pots and illuminated by outdoor lights in the Garden Lounge area will be like a continuation of the green Gediminas Avenue,” reveals Nona Kondrotas, interior designer of Yurta.
Exclusive for both guests and employees
Hilton guests around the world care not only about the pleasing environment, but also about warm, pleasant service and hospitality, which is why the entire chain adheres to the international Brighthearted policy, which aims to show sincere care for each hotel guest and make their trip an unforgettable experience.
“At Hilton, our focus is on our guests, and as their needs change and evolve, our hospitality must be exceptional to consistently meet and exceed their expectations. This is what guests expect when they stay at a Hilton Garden Inn anywhere in the world,” says A. Barauskas, adding that if a guest’s expectations are not met during their stay, they may not pay.
In order to meet extremely high service standards, Hilton offers its employees the opportunity for continuous development.
“One of the biggest advantages for employees is professional development and career opportunities. We have various training programs, we share the experience of different countries. All this allows all employees to grow professionally, they just need to use the tools created. In addition, those who wish can pursue an international career,” says A. Barauskas.
