Modern “Live Square” space to open on Gedimino Avenue: first tenants announced

For open minds. This is the slogan that will invite the city’s residents to a new place on Vilnius’ Gedimino Avenue – “Live Square”. A multifunctional complex will be built here, which will consist of a modern business center, apartments, a public space with an outdoor terrace for city residents, and the first hotel of the world-famous chain “Hilton Garden Inn” in Lithuania. The first tenants of the business center are also known – they were the law firm “Sorainen”.

The total area of the complex will reach about 18 thousand sq. m, and the value – about 49 million euros. The project is being implemented by the urban development company “Eika”, and the architectural part is being designed by the architectural group “Unitectus”. It is planned that “Live Square The space will open in spring 2019.

“When creating the new space, we thought not only about the convenience that is so important when living in the city, but also about the new experience that this space would provide to people. This is how the idea of a place where business, art and technological innovations would organically connect and where their constant exchange would take place came about. We want the citizens and guests of the city who come here to not only spend their free time meaningfully, but also to feel what trends the modern world lives by, and ultimately – what the new, modern Vilnius is,” says Domas Dargis, CEO of Eika, presenting the vision of Live Square.

According to him, the name “Live Square” contains several important elements. The word “live” means life “here and now”, and “square” refers to openness and dynamism, which should revive the somewhat sleepy part of Gediminas Avenue near Lukiškės Square.

It is hoped that the new capital space will bring together an innovative and cultured community that will invest in people, knowledge, bold ideas for the future, and their interaction. “It will be a space of the present with a sense of the future,” adds D. Dargis.

Rated the place

The first tenants of the Live Square business center – the law firm Sorainen – have leased 2.1 thousand square meters of premises. The Sorainen team is constantly growing, which has led to a need for a larger workspace.

“When looking for a new office location, we were guided by several main criteria. The first was that our new workplace would be comfortable and contribute to team productivity, collaboration, the birth of new ideas and development. The second, very important criterion was that the new office would be in a convenient and easily accessible location for our clients,” says Tomas Kontautas, Managing Partner of Sorainen’s office in Lithuania.

Open to citizens

Live Square will invite city residents not only to live and work, but also to spend their free time meaningfully. It will feature a restaurant, rooftop recreation areas surrounded by living and green plants, and a spacious outdoor terrace with a view of Gedimino Avenue, Lukiškės Square, and the surroundings of Tauros Kalnas.

After descending from the terrace, it will be possible to visit the shopping gallery operating in the business center and take a walk in the square, where a fountain will be installed and recreation areas will be created for citizens.

Guests of the city will be able to stay at the four-star Hilton Garden Inn hotel, which has 164 rooms planned that will meet the international standard of the Hilton brand. The hotel will feature a gym, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and a 300 sq. m. conference center. The total area of the hotel will reach 7 thousand sq. m.

A modern business center with retail premises will occupy 6.8 thousand sq. m, and a residential building, which will house 88 apartments with balconies and terraces, will occupy 4.7 thousand sq. m.
