The Baltic Real Estate Awards were held for the third year in a row during the Baltic Real Estate Investment Forum. The best project in the Baltic States in 2016 in the residential housing category was Basanavičiaus 9A, built next to the Reformatų Park in the capital, and managed by Eika..
The jury of the Baltic Real Estate Awards 2017 competition awarded the highest marks to projects that integrated the best technical solutions for housing and innovations, without forgetting the originality and aesthetics of the building. In addition to the internal solutions of the project, its location, harmony with public spaces and neighboring buildings are also evaluated.
According to Martynas Žibūda, Director of the Development Department of Eika, the Basanavičiaus 9A project can be safely called a success story for buyers and the real estate developer. “Single-volume buildings adapted to the Old Town have merged into Reformatų Square, we ourselves invested and made every effort to prepare a technical project for the renovation of Reformatų Square. We predict that the value of the apartments in Basanavičiaus 9A will increase further after the renovation of the park,” says M. Žibūda.
The buildings of the “Basanavičiaus 9A” project were designed by National Prize-winning architect Rolandas Palekas and his team. The buildings blend into Basanavičiaus Street with a light nano-plaster facade, while dark wood was chosen for the facade of the building next to the park. The project is equipped with underfloor heating, recuperation, smart heating control, extremely tight natural wood windows, a water desalination system and ceilings up to 2.9 m high.
“Eika” wins the residential housing category of the Baltic Real Estate Awards for the second time – in 2015, the low-rise housing settlement “Santariškių namai”, developed since 2005, was awarded.
