Cottages “MĖTA” recognized as suitable for use

 

The construction of the cottages “Mėta 5”, “Mėta 6” and “Mėta 7”, which use geothermal and solar energy for heating and hot water preparation, began in 2011, and the first settlers moved in in the spring of 2012.  These houses feature exclusive new-type 2-4-room cottages with individual entrances, outdoor and roof terraces, with an area of ​​50 to 100 square meters.

 

At the end of 2012, cottages with renewable solar energy won a gold medal in the competition “Lithuanian Product of the Year 2012”. Compared to central heating networks, In the “Mėta 7” cottages, the average heating bills for the 2012-2013 heating season were up to 30 percent lower, and in the “Mėta 5” and “Mėta 6” cottages, which have economical geothermal heating, they were even up to 45 percent lower.

Currently, the construction of the cottages “Mėta 8” and “Mėta 9” is being completed in Santariškės, as well as the construction of the semi-detached individual houses “Miglė”. Near Verkiai Park, the low-rise apartment buildings “Gilė” are also being built, which will add another 190 apartments of various sizes to the “Santariškės namai” settlement.

 

“Eika” is actively building not only houses, but also  investing in the well-being of the residents of “Santariškių namai”. Currently, a pedestrian and bicycle path is being built near Skersinė Street. The main construction works of the new 720 m long gravel path with lighting are planned to be completed by the end of August. The new path will improve pedestrian and cyclist communication between Santariškių Street and Molėtai Highway.
